This turned out to be a beautiful conclusion to our lessons in poetry and our whole journey from Genesis so far. We’ve learned a lot in this module about general revelation—how God reveals Himself in nature and culture. We also know by now that God has been bringing His people back to the garden in different ways since we left. There were hints in the tabernacle and temple. The Song of Songs is a literal garden where humans are together again without shame. Here’s a great place to stop and reflect once more on the lens through which we’ve been looking. Do you see God at work more in the world around you? Can you recognize Him in what is good in nature and culture, or in what is originally good, even when it’s distorted? Can you celebrate human love more fully in itself and as a way to imagine the love God shares with His people?

In the next course we’ll journey through the Prophets and into the Restoration Period. You have a big head start because you already know the general history of the period from Course 2. You’ll also find that these prophets sound a lot like Moses from Course 1 and Elijah and Elisha from Course 2. Best of all, you already know that God does not give up on His people. Although there is judgment, there is always hope. And that’s how the Old Testament is going to end. So, we’ll see you soon!
