Overview and Objectives

Lesson Overview

This final lesson explores the fourth key concept of union with Christ—incorporation. You will examine Ephesians 4 to gain a better understanding of what it means to be part of the body of Christ and what this has to do with your individual, personal union with Christ.

Lesson Objectives

When you complete this lesson, you should be able to do the following:

  • Explain what incorporation means and why it is important.
  • Use the body of Christ metaphor to describe how we are to live with other Christians.
  • Use Ephesians 4 to illustrate the nature and importance of incorporation.
Personal Reflection

As you proceed through this lesson have the following question in mind.
Reflect on the lecturer’s statement: “union with Christ is not just about individuals and their relationships with Christ.” Have you ever thought about your union with Christ including how you are joined to other people? How does thinking about it this way change things for you?
