Our last module put us on the road again in the book of Numbers. We were off to a good start but then failed to trust God to get us into the Promised Land. Everyone failed—even Moses. Now we have a new generation that will move onto the Plains of Moab for the final words of Moses. They will be words of warning, yet words offering life and a future.
Deuteronomy lays out God’s vision for a community that will be a light to the nations. This is our chance to sit at the feet of God’s servant and remember all that we’ve learned on our way to this momentous occasion. So let’s make our way to the next mountain and listen to the great restatement of God’s covenant invitation.

Workbook Journal-
This is a very well organized course that is presented to all who are looking for a better understanding of the writing and meaning of Deuteronomy. It can stand alone, but gains so much more depth if kept in line with the previous books of the Pentateuch as presented by ODBU. I love Dr. Laniak’s explanations and relaxed manner of “showing” as well as “telling”. Great courses!

This challenges me to invest in my faith community and family, ensuring that God’s Word is central to our lives. Am I creating spaces for worship, study, and mutual encouragement?

I like how the instructor goes to places and describes them as he gives us content on them, introducing us to the people who can also describe the times and those areas as well. Nothing can beat being there yourself; however, for those of us who cannot, this comes pretty close to that. Thank you kindly for the thoughtfulness that has gone into creating these courses and the course materials as well. Much appreciated.
