Well, this lesson has certainly taken us through a variety of topics! Sorcery, ethnic diversity, temptation, kinship, and more. We trust you’ve taken the guiding questions seriously. Numbers tells us a lot more than you might expect about the character of God and the character of God’s people. We also keep getting more perspective on faith and waiting—on what it looks like to trust in God in that long stretch between promise and fulfillment. And, as always, we have bright spots—examples of amazing courage and faith. In this case, Joshua and Caleb.

These stories make you ask yourself: Who would you have most been like back then? Like the courageous or like the complainers? It’s now a little clearer how easy it would have been to complain, and how much faith it would have taken to have courage.

In the next lesson we turn, at last, to the final book in the 5 Books of Moses. There are more great lessons ahead.
