Being “childlike” isn’t such a noble concept when you have some background, is it? Matthew gave us a chance to watch Jesus interact with children in a way that showed them dignity, but then He told us to be like them. We might like the idea of innocence … but not powerlessness. He mentions the least and the little ones enough to show that this mattered to Him a lot.
