Although most of us today are not living under the rule of a king, we understand power and authority. Who would you consider the most powerful person in the world today? What titles might be the modern equivalent of “king”?

Well, thinking of power is important when Jesus describes the Kingdom of God. Jesus exercised great authority in all aspects of his ministry. But Matthew shows us that Jesus actually emphasized powerlessness as the characteristic of those who accept God’s Kingdom. Little ones. The least. Sons, servants and children.
