Wrap-Up
You have now arrived at the holy mountain where God will speak. What do you feel? Afraid? Confused? Fascinated? Eager? All of those feelings make sense. Getting into a relationship with God is serious business. He is so much more than we can comprehend, so much more than we can even imagine. But, like Moses, who first approached a burning bush on this mountain, we have come too far to choose any other path.
What does God say to you from the mountaintop? When He speaks from the cloud and the thunder, what is He telling you? We tend to speak of God in near and intimate terms—and God does dwell among us. But He is also the powerful Creator of all things, and sometimes we’re left to look up at the mountain and feel a righteous fear and trembling before a high and holy God.
