Being a blessing to others even in the face of our own struggles. I understand that God watches everything I do and I also understand the righteous are never forsaken, nor does his seed beg for bread. Put God first and everything else is taken care of. I am reminded of the widow woman in the book of 1 Kings chapter 17 when Elijah encountered the widow woman who was at her very last. He instructed her to “make me a little cake first”. The precept here is that she gave even though she only had enough for herself and her son. Verse 13 “Do not fear; go <i style=”font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; color: inherit;”>and do as you have said, but make me a small cake from it first, and bring <i style=”font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; color: inherit;”>it to me; and afterward make <i style=”font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; color: inherit;”>some for yourself and your son. 14 For thus says the Lord God of Israel: ‘The bin of flour shall not be used up, nor shall the jar of oil run dry, until the day the Lord sends rain on the earth.’ ” She put God first and He took care of her!! What a testimony.

It is interesting that in this subject the topic of forgiveness comes up again. It is true that crises are often caused by factors outside our control – natural disasters, bad government, a cheat, sudden illness, etc. So we blame the guilty party – or if we can’t pinpoint one, we blame God. It is necessary to remove this bitterness in order to move on with joy, love and courage.

It’s interesting to be reminded of how short of time we have on earth. Furthermore, how what we do now have eternal weight.

I thought it was amazing how the lord consistently thinks about us.
-
Samuel, Him constantly thinking about us is pretty amazing. I just wish we could remember to think about Him when we are going through our tough times, and we think He’s not there.

God’s Word is the foundation for everything, but we often like to do things our own way. Through the lesson, I understand the value of God’s word that governs everything and how to manage everything, especially money and work.
-
I like your comment on “like to do things our own way.” Many times we might know the right thing to do or God’s way of doing it, but sadly when in distress and a “quick fix” is seemingly needed, we (I) will quickly turn to what I think is right. Thank God for wisdom from Proverd 16:1 and 16:25.

The suggestion of estimating the number of days we have left on earth is interesting. I ended up with 10,950 days. This is humbling, knowing how a day can pass away without you being aware of what significant thing you have accomplished that day. This is a good exercise to keep stock of my days.

What I am doing now which is working giving to the needy sowing seeds and going to ministry school and going to church everyday

The fact that I only have so much time to influence people in comparison to eternity is pretty humbling.

Our time on this earth is too short. Sometimes we focus on pleasing ourselves more than pleasing God. Through the lesson, I know I need to focus on God’s work and focus on eternal life

On the one hand,, we must invest in tomorrow for yesterday is gone and today is ALL that matters. Spreading the WORD, surviving this world, and forming a stronger relationship with our Lord is the focus of my NEW eyes. Act now, for the second coming Jesus is at hand!

I don’t actually own anything. Everything belongs to God. All earthly possessions will be left behind.

The idea of being a pilgrim reminds me that my real home and treasures are in heaven. It helps me not to hold on so tightly to my possessions. It helps me to give more joyfully to God and to others.

Knowing that I need to remember I’m going to leave my possessions behind

I need to remember who owns my possessions and not consider myself the owner of anything
