Compass Commentary

We are never too old to learn, but we always need to assess from whom we are learning. These passages are rich in describing the value of receiving and embracing instruction, wisdom, insight, and discretion. They warn of the enticements of “sinful men” and the pitfalls they lead to. We should intentionally seek counsel from wise and godly people, including our parents. It improves the likelihood of our plans succeeding and the joy that will result. God’s Word is an important source of wisdom and counsel, guiding us in our life and financial decisions.
