The idea of the biased counselor. It is hard to find the right counselor in an expert position if they are profiting off of advice. I do like to ask people that are in certain fields for advice if I know them personally and am asking as a friend instead of as a client.

Most of the time, I don’t want to hear what others have to say.

It is likely more counselor-serving, and intended to reflect the counselor’s mind set or lack of genuine concern, knowledge or truth; than what is most beneficial for the person being counseled. The advice likely comes with pressure or guilt if not followed.

Biased advice comes from those who benefit from the advice they are giving more than the one seeking the advice.
