interesting because giving follows love…when we have a love for others it will show by our action of giving. some people are blessed with a spirit of giving and will go out of their way to meet a need without anyone asking.

That the love and the heart posture behind the gift is more important than the gift itself. God shows us yet again how He is after changing our hearts.

Basically, that if my HEART is not in honoring God with my gifts; then the effort is useless. I must first LOVE as he has done before my birth to build a stronger relationship.

The idea that in God’s economy, gifts given with the proper attitude benefit the giver more than the receiver; that Jesus said, “‘It is more blessed to give than to receive’”.

Give cheerfully like you are giving to God himself. He Gave his only son for us and he is our provider, and may multiply and bless us with more when we give in love.

I will repeat what I said in the previous question. Interestingly, I’ve learned how to give and one of the rewards is the overflowing joy that you feel when you do. The challenge is to give that you might experience joy, but also have your needs met.

This is blessed and pleased by God. Because God wants us to love with concrete actions and deeds.

Nam Lieu, I liked how you said, “concrete actions.” The act of giving is purposeful. I purposely give, because I believe God will purposely increase the world of the liberal giver. Trusting His word should make us respond intentionally, deliberately, and cheerfully. He is God that cannot lie.

I do believe that I have been blessed by God and I thank him every day. Anytime that you give, whether it is monetary, clothing, any kind of help at all, I do believe you are blessed in return. And I always make a point of thanking the most high.

Lisa, I love your comment. It reminded me of the attitude of giving, not just what you give. Then, as in 2 Cor. 9: 10, He will provide and increase your resources and produce a great harvest of generosity in you.

The Good – remembering that God so loved the world that He gave. Seeing His ultimate expression of love should compel us to do the same.

The Bad – Feeling like I’ve worked so hard and I’m not going to give so freely what I worked hard for. Then I remember, if He didn’t give me life, health, and strength, I couldn’t work at all. Funny how that works.

It’s sad that when they give to the wrong people, they pretend to be poor…. they manipulate the giver’s psychology…

Nam Lieu, your statement is so true. I volunteered at many food giveaways in my city. The ironic thing is that you start to see the same faces at every giveaway. It upsetted me because I thought the same people were preventing someone else from be blessed also. As you said, “giving to the wrong people.” But I had to learn that all I’m responsible for is doing my part by giving. God will do His. This helped my bad attitude.

I love to give! I think everybody does, but I think everybody has that thought in the back of their head how much of it does go to the Needy, and how much of it does go to the CEOs, etc. a lot of times I have to look into charities to figure that out. And I think that is sad.

My attitude goes off what the recipients attitude. If they show appreciation it makes it feel good. If they are just blah it makes it harder to continue to give to them
