Have you ever wondered why there are four Gospels? Do you have a clear sense of what’s unique to each one—and what they hold in common?  This lesson takes us to the early years in Jesus’ life, where only Matthew and Luke have pieces of the puzzle.

But, these pieces also raise questions like: Why the mix of genealogies and angelic visitations, of visits by shepherd and royal guests, and threats felt deep in the very court of Herod? Why all this stir about a baby born to a simple couple staying a long way from home in the animal quarters of Bethlehem?

We are about to hear very significant echoes of the Old Testament here and throughout the Gospels, so be ready for the journey to have lots of “looking back” as we press forward.
