Commendation Condemnation
And we are sending along with (Titus) the brother who is praised by all the churches for his service to the gospel. (2 Corinthians 8:18) I warned those who sinned before and all the others, and I warn them now while absent, as I did when present on my second visit, that if I come again I will not spare them. (2 Corinthians 13:2, ESV)
This charge I entrust to you, Timothy, my child, in accordance with the prophecies previously made about you, that by them you may wage the good warfare. (1 Timothy 1:18, ESV) I have been a fool! You forced me to it, for I ought to have been commended by you. (2 Corinthians 12:11, ESV)
For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. Whoever thus serves Christ is acceptable to God and approved by men. (Romans 14:17-18, ESV) I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel. (Galatians 1:6, ESV)
