Hopefully the concept of a covenant with God has become clear and attractive to you. The boundaries it puts in place are for our own good. And the outcome is a community that shares God’s values and pursues God’s mission in this world. It’s an empowering and endearing invitation, especially when you think about having come from Egypt, where lordship meant nothing more than domination and servitude.
We’ll have a chance to explore covenant living a lot more in this journey. The next lesson will show us God’s specific guidelines for the life of the new nation in Canaan.
