The book of Judges ended with pure anarchy. It seemed pretty hopeless. But then Ruth gave us a ray of hope. Her marriage brought a child into the world whose line will bring us God’s chosen king for Israel.

But what happens between Ruth and David? A lot

We’ll meet a barren woman praying in the tabernacle, an old priest with rebellious sons, and then Israel’s first king who failed at kingship but almost succeeded at killing David.

Let’s follow these characters on a story line that’s full of ups and downs, of anticipations and disappointments, and see if we can recognize the hesed of the real King of Israel.
