This lesson might have taken you into some surprising territory—not just exploring ancient tunnels and walls, but considering what a miracle can look like. Did you find it helpful to think of miracles on a spectrum, with different kinds of divine/human collaboration . . . and different outcomes—some dramatic and some disappointing? 

We’ll have many lessons that are both inspiring and sobering. This was one of them. Hezekiah is an example of courageous faith before insurmountable odds. He is also an example of someone who suffered deeply even though the miraculous came. In our next lesson we’ll find another king, much like Hezekiah, who does whatever is necessary to follow the God of his ancestors.
