There is good reason for great care and attention to detail in Solomon’s temple dedication. Let’s go back and compare the temple dedication to some events from the time of David involving the ark.
- Read 2 Samuel 6:1-19. Record below any details you notice about the specific practices mentioned regarding the moving of the ark.
Next, read 1 Chronicles 15:1-28.
- Now record any differences or unique additions added by Chronicles compared to what we saw in 2 Samuel.
- This 1 Chronicles passage is more sensitized to the ritual importance of how the Levites carry the ark compared to 2 Samuel. Add your own comments about this in your workbook.
