Thanks to Paul’s transparency we’ve had a chance to listen to his internal struggles. He had divine authority, but it bothered him that so many believers would follow other “super apostles.” He’s tempted to pull out his resume, but God already proved that His Spirit was more important than anything he humanly had to offer. He had a thorn in the flesh that God chose not to remove, just to keep Paul aware that God’s strength was made perfect in human weakness.

We only scratched the surface on the implications of this case study. There are whole brands of Christianity in the world today that seem to flow either in the track of persecution or prosperity. We hope Paul has inspired you to reflect more deeply on the kind of faith you’ve inherited.

Stay tuned for one more lesson on Paul that will bring this module to a close.
