We have now arrived at our last Gospel, and certainly the most unique. John will be less tied to the basic itinerary of Jesus’ ministry and more interested in how it connects to the Jewish holidays. He introduces us to people we haven’t met before—like Nicodemus and the Samaritan woman. In John, Jesus uses memorable images like the Good Shepherd and the Vine to speak of Himself.

John has been a favorite for many Christians throughout the ages. Let’s get acquainted with this shining gem first with our overview.
