If you had a chance to complete the Bible Journey “History and Poetry” Learning Path, you’ll remember the term “affluenza” for the people of Elijah’s day. Sounds a lot like the people of Corinth, right? And probably also like people living in the West in the twenty first century. 

The desire for comfort may not seem like such a vice, but we’ve seen how the pursuit of pleasure got the Corinthians in trouble. You want to avoid pain and hardship. You want peace at any price. 

Well, there’s certainly more to consider in the Corinthian correspondence, but we’re off now to what might be Paul’s most famous book: Romans.
