In the New Testament we’ll focus on the “already” and the “not yet” of faith. We’re getting a feel for this tension already in Joshua. God fulfills His promise to Joshua, but the fulfillment is incomplete. The land has been taken, but there is still land to take. This tension locates Joshua, and us today, somewhere in the middle of God’s promises.
