By the time chapter 8 comes to a close, Achan’s egregious error has been dealt with and Ai has been taken. But in 8:30, the chapter takes a turn. In 8:30–35, Joshua constructs an altar on Mt. Ebal so Israel can worship there. It may seem like a random occurrence, but it’s intentional. Let’s check out the scene.
Read Joshua 8:30–35 and answer the following questions:
