Wrap-Up

The book of Joshua was more positive and upbeat, but Judges is a downward spiral. Chances are, you can relate to these discouraging and repetitive cycles. 

Did some experiences in your own family come to mind—or in your church or ministry? We just don’t seem to be as consistent as we’d like in our faithfulness to God. But God remains faithful—throughout Judges. That should certainly bring hope. God uses some pretty bad characters to rescue His people. 

Sometimes God calls us into places that make it necessary to trust Him. God sometimes calls us to lead His people, even in those places where they have not been trusting Him. Can we lead with empathy for them, but also with courage to believe God has something better for all of us if we trust Him again? That’s a lot to think about. We’ll take some more time in this book to make sure we don’t miss anything.
