When David came out to battle Goliath he was taking a risk. As far as we know, he had been given no promise that God would give him victory. If Goliath had killed David, no one would have been surprised.

Sometimes we have to step out in faith—not in the faith that God will save us every time, but in the faith that we’re doing what He has called us to do.

  1. Are you being called by God to do something that feels like a risk?
  1. Has the knowledge that God might let you fail prevented you from taking this step? Are you more concerned with success than loyalty? With one specific risk in mind, answer these questions in a brief response in your workbook.
