Topics like baptism sometimes get treated like matters of personal preference. What does your church do? How were you baptized? While the forms and formalities may be flexible, we trust that this lesson has reinvigorated your appreciation for the profound meanings of this sacred rite. There are brothers and sisters around the world who risk their lives whenever they make a public profession of faith through baptism. This reminds us not to take for granted the gift of expressing our identification with Christ in his death and resurrection. Though baptism is a fairly simple act, it captures the essence of our union with him … and with all who follow him.
