This lesson should have been quite inspiring. After all, the Lord of the Universe decided to use his power not to threaten us but to free us from diseases and demons. And he still does that today for people around the world. We need to steer clear of the temptation to try to manipulate God for our own wishes—a kind of modern magic—and avoid the opposite extreme of not believing that God still wants to display his power for good in this world. 

This might be a good time to stop and journal about which tendency you find in yourself, or if it might be both at different times, for different reasons.
