Wrap-Up

If you were an Assyrian or Babylonian, you would probably think that the kingdoms of Israel and Judah fell because your empire had the power and will to defeat them. But the Bible points to a different cause—something spiritual. We’re used to that interpretation for biblical stories, but do we recognize the spiritual causes behind the rise and fall of political, economic and social systems today? That might take some extra effort when the voices around us always and only explain things apart from God. The books of Kings and Chronicles give us lenses—lenses we can still use today—to see the world the way God does. 

Next, we’ll turn our attention to a group of people who excelled at seeing the world the way God does—and they didn’t hesitate to let others know what they saw!
