Elijah’s encounter with God at Mt. Horeb (Mt. Sinai) is one of the great scenes in the Old Testament. The interaction between YHWH and his prophet is part of what makes it such a powerful story.
- Read 1 Kings 19:1-9. The translation of verse 9 should be, “There he went into the cave and spent the night.” This is a particular cave. Can you recall anything else that might have happened at this site?
