When you think of worship in the Bible, what do you think of first? Temple praise and worship? Animal sacrifice? And what do you think happened to all of the offerings and sacrifices? Could you imagine something that might be called a “holy barbeque”? Maybe you’ve never thought of it before but there was a lot of food prepared and it wasn’t for the gods to eat; it was for God’s people to eat together in His presence.

And that was different than how their neighbors viewed sacrifice.

Let’s explore the different kinds of offerings and sacrifices in their ancient context and rediscover a fuller understanding of worship. We will also find ourselves invited into a sacramental way of life that makes every meal a potential ritual of honor.
